Update add-ons to enter Firefox 4 collection competition

Firefox 4 is just around the corner and the updated version of the Firefox API has been frozen for some time now. The Add-ons blog is reminding add-on developers to Update your add-on for Firefox 4. Add-ons that are compatible with Firefox 4 are eligible for a competition to be featured in a collection to showcase the best Firefox 4 add-ons. So, if you’re an add-on developer, check out the details of how to update your add-on, read the contest rules, and enter the competition.

      The add-on API is frozen, i.e. stable and feature complete. You can start your work now, the RC won’t change anything.

      Beta 12 is out now. RC is up next. And as foobert said, the add-on API is frozen, and won’t change before release.

    Can I enter the competition with a Addon SDK addon for Firefox 4.0? Or do I have to necessarily update one that is already deployed for Firefox 3.5 or older?

      Yes, it can be a new add-on, not just an update. See the contest rules for details.
